Art is more than a hobby, or a paycheck. To me it is really just an overflow of emotions--gratitude, excitement, wonder. I feel that as a creation blessed with certain artistic talents, it is both my pleasure and moral responsibility to present this overflow to the best of my abilities.

I am intrigued by themes such as the human figure, spirituality, adventure, the masculine heart, and the human experience on Earth. I primarily work in oil paints, pen and ink, and watercolor, because they give me the most fluidity and expressive qualities I enjoy. Oil paints in particular are a favorite, both because of their versatility, and the association of this "old world" ideal. Oil painting is rich in history in the illustration as well as fine art market, and I feel privileged be able to contribute a page to that history.

I was born and raised in a small rural town in Texas, and left at age eighteen to pursue my passion for art at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in Colorado. The beauty and personality of the Northwest intrigued me and brought me to Portland, where I finished me formal art education at the Pacific Northwest College of Art.

My ideas and images are fueled from rich life experience, my travels, and my relationship with my Savior. I'm excited about the road ahead and the asphalt beneath my feet. I will keep painting until I get to the end.
